ONOMO was established in 2009 on the finding that in Africa, international hotel chains tend to fall in the high-end range – which does not meet the continent’s growing demand for lodging that offers good value for consumers’ money.
ONOMO promotes the vision of a dynamic and modern Africa with its lifestyle design, and through the Africa’s Finest label, the group offers guests the best of the continent’s creativity while supporting African artisans and artists. In 2019, ONOMO was named “Best real-estate project in Africa” by the Africa Investments Forum and Awards.

ONOMO is the only mid-range hotel brand to connect all of Africa.
In less than a decade, ONOMO has built a platform of 21 hotels (approximately 2,800 rooms, or an average of 130 rooms per location) in 13 countries and 17 cities. After a successful first phase of development in west and central Africa (seven hotels: 890 rooms), in 2016 ONOMO set up in South Africa (five hotels: 790 rooms), in East Africa (three hotels: 390 rooms) and, since 2018, in North Africa with the strategic acquisition of a portfolio of six Moroccan hotels: 740 rooms).
Our ambition? To double the size of our portfolio by 2025, and expand our presence to new destinations through development projects, acquisition of existing hotels, joint ventures, leases and management contracts.
Group management and development come from a team of roughly 700 professionals with integrated expertise across the entire value chain, from construction (Vinci) to investment (Morgan Stanley, Tishman Speyer) through to the most-renowned hoteliers.
ONOMO is based on the unique expertise of an expert team dedicated to the development and management of the group’s operations, all with solid financial, legal and technical experience.

– Around 30 sites secured over the past eight years
– 15 hotels built or renovated over the past five years, in challenging economic climates
– Average construction time: 18 months
– More than €400 million of capital raised (debt or equity)
With more than 750 employees, over 95% of whom are African nationals or residents, ONOMO has a unique understanding of African culture and markets.
Since 2015, ONOMO’s headquarters have been based in Casablanca. Two additional regional offices have been created to support our hotels as close as possible to their operations.
